Teacher Strategies in Overcoming Early Reading Difficulties of Grade 1 Elementary School Students

: The background of this research is based on the importance of reading skills as a basic ability that is very necessary for students to develop further learning abilities. Read is skills base important that allows student develop ability Study more continue. However, learning read is not easy task for students, especially at the stage early, and also gave rise to significant challenges for teachers as educators. Failure student in get skills read No solely caused by lack of ability they for learn skills new, but also suspected influenced by the teacher own research This aims for describe the strategies used by teachers in overcome difficulty read early in students’ school base class one totaling 30 people. Approach qualitative with method descriptive is research used. Data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. On the findings study This show that the teacher applies several effective strategies, including approach helpful phonetics student connect letter with sound, use of visual media such as card letters, pictures, and boards flannel, activities learning based game like guess letters and word formation, as well individual mentoring. These strategies help student increase skills they in know letters, composing syllables, and reading simple words. In general, overall, combination various creative and interactive teaching strategies and learning media are very important in effort for increase skills read early in students’ class one. This study emphasizes importance teacher creativity in teaching read early.
